Poetry is not just rhyming, its structure, feel, its describing something in a unique way. Finding another way to saying something like in JRR Tolkiens Return of the King when Sam says, "the stairs move backwards like." He is saying its so dark he can only see a few steps ahead of him at a time.

A bit of criticism. It doesn't hurt to make a creature piece a bit more poetic like the Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll.
